turn off the hacks
Well someone had to say it ...
did you have a look in the event viewer.
Maybe its time for a new battery on your motherboard. Sometimes they need replacing but not often. If you change it do it quick or you may loose bios settings.(you may still loose settings even if you take it out quick).
You sure you not got any viruses on there. Have you run a registry check . Also try cc cleaner.
Also right click onto mycomputer and then manage then event viewer . then windows logs then look at application and system see if there are any problems.
Have you tried monitoring your temperatures with motherboard monitor or speed fan?.
What spec do you have in your case and how many fans you got in it.
Run memtest to test memory and prime95 for cpu test.
Memory does fail. Ive had about 3 sticks go down over several years. Well worth doing the memtest test. download here http://www.memtest.org/
Well I prob use ps for different things than you. I take a lot of landscape photos. Most of my images are either blended exposures or multi shot panos.
I run a q6600 at 3.7gig with custom cooling. This time of year it runs at around 18 oC on 100% load.
Anyhow if your interested I have a web site with my work on it.
